JATM Excels at Nashville
Expo
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – John
Abaté International achieved record
results at the ITA World Expo 2003 in Nashville, TN last November.
Introducing new products
for the 2004 tanning season, JA encouraged trade-show attendees
to sample its new Natural™ line’s products,
Reveal™ and Venus™, as well as the new product in the JA Solarium™
line, Silké™ — little sister to last year’s bestseller,
Babié™. In addition, reformulations of Titanium™ and Melaplus™,
featuring new and improved fragrances, won widespread praise from
salon owners.
Besides offering an
array of show specials at its booth, JA transformed its contingent
of Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders
into customer-service representatives. “The girls have first-hand
knowledge of our products. I felt the young ladies could represent
our company with the poise and enthusiasm that we want to demonstrate
to salon owners,” stated John Abaté, company founder, CEO,
and President.
When the girls took
the floor on Saturday, sales at the booth more than doubled.
On Sunday, JA completely ran out of its products,
a first-time accomplishment in the company’s trade-show history.
CEO Abaté commented, “The Cheerleaders exceeded our expectations
in terms of their ability to explain and market our products. They
are familiar with our commitment to quality skincare and premium
natural ingredients in everything we manufacture, and what impressed
us even more was their ability to communicate that information
to both new salon owners and industry veterans. The numbers really
tell the story!”

Sun Ergoline Contest Winners Ecstatic
JONESBORO, AR – Sun
Ergoline has announced the contest winners of a brand new Ergoline
Evolution 600 Turbo Power and Sundash Competition
232G at the 2003 ITA World Expo in Nashville. While most tradeshow
attendees grab all the freebies they can, Paige Heatherly of Sunseekers
in Fletcher, NC and Charlie Walker of Charlie’s Sno-Ball & Seasonal
Tanning in Kilgore, TX left the show with brand new Sun Ergoline
tanning beds.
“Sun Ergoline displayed its new equipment at the ITA Expo and
to show our appreciation for people admiring our line of products,
we decided to give away two brand new tanning beds – one from our
Ergoline series and one from our Sundash series,” said Mike Aponas,
Vice President of Sales at Sun Ergoline, Inc. “We are very happy
that these two lucky winners will each receive first-class tanning
beds that they can use to impress their customers and generate
sales. Any salon owner should feel proud to feature Sun Ergoline
beds in their salon and any customer should feel pampered to tan
in one.”
“It’s exciting to have won such an amazing bed at the ITA World
Expo,” said Paige Heatherly, winner of the Ergoline Evolution 600
and owner of SunSeekers in Fletcher, North Carolina. “As a new
salon owner, getting top-of-the-line equipment is crucial, but
often difficult to obtain. The Ergoline Evolution 600 will certainly
help to get my salon off to a great start! Thank you, Sun Ergoline!”
“I’ve been needing a
new tanning bed. We strive to make every customer that comes
to our store feel like they’re a part of the
family,” said Charlie Walker, winner of the Sundash 232G and owner
of Charlie’s Sno-Ball & Seasonal Tanning. “When they drew my
name out of the bin it was so hard to believe that I had won. All
I could think of is ‘WOW!’ and I’m still excited and shocked.”

Top Swimmer, Proud Father
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – At 13 years old, Kaylan Gayheart is ranked
16th in the nation for distance swimming. Needless to say, her
father Steve Gayheart, owner of lotion maker Biddiscombe Labs,
is very proud.
At an early age, Kaylan Gayheart is showing a strong talent for
swimming, particularly the sport of distance swimming. She practices
five days a week, and competes in tournaments almost every weekend.
“This kind of competition is very serious,” Steve commented. “It’s
like running a marathon, except they have to swim five miles at
a time, or more.” As a result of her dedication, the 13-year-old
Virginia native is ranked 16th in the nation for the sport, and
her accomplishments have made her an Olympic hopeful.
Kaylan, who lives in Virginia with her mother, plans to attend
the University of Virginia. “She wants to pursue the pharmacology
program, like her father did; but, that could all change in a
few years. Of course, it really doesn’t matter what major Kaylan
chooses, just as long as she’s happy,” Steve said.

“This food drive definitely ranks in the top 15 of the 300 food

will provide more than 5,430 meals for hungry people in the Chicago
area.

JA’s Tara Diamond is a “Part-Time Star”
SCOTTSDALE,
AZ – John Abaté International’s
Tara Diamond had her “big break” on national TV, and she loved
every minute
of it.
As product educator-trainer for the lotion company, Tara travels
to salons across the country to offer training and sales knowledge
to tanning professionals. Her glowing tan, warm smile and sparkling
blue eyes are also a popular attraction at the JA booth during
tanning industry trade events. Now, the ambitious New Jersey native
has landed herself appearances on not one, but two nationally televised
dating shows.
Tara was chosen
to appear on recent episodes of two popular dating shows – “Blind
Date” and “Cupid” – after filling out a form to
enter online. “It came onto my screen as a pop-up ad, and I filled
it out and didn’t think anything more about it until I got a call
from the casting agency,” Tara said. “I was completely shocked
when they asked me to come to Los Angeles for the taping.” The
first program operates very much the way it sounds – a coupleis
set up on a blind date, and a camera crew follows them around for
the entire evening. On the show, Tara can be seen enjoying trapeze
lessons and Broadway dance training with her date, Jon. The episode
will air this month. Her appearance on the season finale of “Cupid”
was briefer – she was one of 10 young women who went out on a group
date with 10 of the gentlemen eliminated from the TV show “Bachelors.”
While neither of her dates ended up in a “love connection,” Tara
says she enjoyed both experiences. “I love working at JA so much,
so this is just something for me to pursue during the off-peak
months when we’re not as busy,” she commented.
