For those salon pros in search of the perfect way to
spice up their lotion sales, the Australian Gold/Swedish Beauty point-of-purchase
display should be just what the doctor ordered. This compact yet eye-catching
counter display holds a book of 50 coupons that offer tanners a $1.50
cash-back rebate on every purchase of AG/SB lotion priced at $30 or more.
This industry first is being brought to you, the tanning salon professional,
exclusively by AG/SB and Island Sun Times, and is sure to get cash drawers
ringing in salons nationwide!
As a national industry that’s smaller than most, indoor tanning product
manufacturers haven’t always had the budgets to market directly to the
end consumer – the indoor tanner. This often leaves it strictly up to
the tanning salon professional to market and educate their clients about
not only the benefits of using indoor tanning lotion, in general, but
also the benefits and features of the particular lotion brands offered
at their store. Now, with the help of IST, Australian Gold/Swedish Beauty
plans to start marketing its popular lotion products directly to your
tanners.
The April issue of IST will include these rebate coupons and a special
point-of-purchase display designed to be placed on salon reception counters,
in full view of tanning customers.
“This is a great opportunity for salon pros to reward their tanners for
their loyalty while giving them a discount on their favorite lotion products,”
said John Keiffner, AG/SB Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “And
we know that when it comes to the end consumer, money talks. That’s why
our coupons offer cold hard cash, instead of products, points or other
incentives. People want to know that they’re actually saving money with
a special offer, and they certainly are with this one.”
Of all the ways that AG/SB could have chosen to market its products to
the end user, the lotion giant offers some solid reasoning as to why it
chose coupons. “This is part of a long range plan of ours to reach the
product consumer, which was developed after several intensive studies
into consumer trends,” Keiffner said. “What we found is that over 80 percent
of our key demographic – women aged 18 to 47 – use coupons for many everyday
purchases. It makes perfect sense to extend that trend to the indoor tanning
industry and allow our loyal tanning salon clients to utilize it to increase
their retail revenue.”
Although AG/SB is offering the initial coupon, salon pros can expand on
the concept to offer their clients bigger savings, which is what the lotion
company encourages. “Our research has indicated that retail establishments
will often double or even triple coupons offered by manufacturers, and
this is very popular among shoppers,” Keiffner commented. “We would encourage
our salon clients to do the same with these coupons because it will lead
to an increase in sales, as well as customer loyalty.”
Look for the special AG/SB consumer coupons
and display polybagged with your April issue of IST. The offer is open
to all salon pros that sell AG/SB products, and runs from March 1st to
June 30th, 2006.
