Networking
The key to running a successful small business often lies in the networking
abilities of its owners and managers. However, today’s small business
owners are often too busy to devote adequate time to networking, losing
out on valuable growth opportunities in the process. With owners so involved
in the time-intensive day-to-day operations of their salons, the indoor
tanning industry is no stranger to this predicament.
Following discussions with members at various industry events, including
the 2005 Tanning World Expo, the Indoor Tanning Association set out to
find a solution that would allow the owners to network with each other
and with suppliers in a time and cost-effective manner. The 2006 ITA Leadership
Council, to be held in Las Vegas June 20-23, is the solution – a state
of the art conference that provides three days of focused, sales-driven
networking opportunities in a flexible and fun atmosphere.
Held at the luxurious Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa, the Leadership
Council promises to provide the perfect complement to the product-focused
atmosphere of the Tanning World Expo with an emphasis on personal and
business relationships. Extensive networking opportunities, including
the innovative Speed Business Networking program, will give participants
increased one-on-one face time with suppliers and other owners, saving
time and money in the long-term. The event will also feature educational
sessions focusing on industry issues and financial growth processes. The
location and flexible schedule ensures that attendees will have the freedom
to work, network and play as they see fit.
New Concept: Speed Business Networking
Speed Business Networking allows owners to focus on their needs and concerns
in advance of the show through a pre-registration process allowing for
networking time during the gathering to be spent solely meeting those
current and potential suppliers with whom face time is most crucial. Meeting
with these pre-qualified suppliers in structured, ten-minute sessions,
owners will be able to establish immediately whether further discussion
is warranted. In such cases, additional meeting, networking and social
opportunities will be readily available throughout the Council. “I am
proud the ITA is hosting a conference where key industry players will
converge to learn, network and have fun,” says Dan Humiston, ITA President.
Throughout the 2006 ITA Leadership Council, there will be opportunities
to learn from industry leaders. With an emphasis on issues facing ITA
members daily, these educational opportunities will present valuable information
and lead to exciting discussions with fellow ITA members. From an interactive
panel discussion on issues affecting the industry, to a program aimed
at owners seeking to raise capital, these sessions will give owners the
tools and information they need to grow their businesses. Additional sessions
will discuss important issues affecting the industry, including Federal
Trade Commission issues on supporting health and wellness claims and the
medical and scientific industries’ views on the health benefits of sunlight
and UV exposure.
Leadership Council attendees will enjoy the Green Valley Ranch, located
just minutes from Las Vegas strip and featuring manicured lawns and trees,
separate private cabanas and infinity-edge dipping pools. An expansive
spa offers a retreat from the stresses of the everyday world, while the
intimate, European-style casinos provide the action you expect from one
of Vegas’ leading resorts. The guest rooms combine luxury with modern
amenities.
The 2006 ITA Leadership Council is limited to ITA members, although
non-members can join the association when they register for the event.
