Dear Readers:
The May issue is always fun for us – our annual salute to “Women in Tanning”.
My staff enjoys putting together the mini-profiles, and Ribby likes doing
the interviews and chatting with the honorees about beauty products and
such…(just kidding, Ribs). Women rule here at IST, too – Ribby’s taken
his share of abuse as the only other guy on the staff (but he really loves
it). I probably haven’t told them lately, but my all-gal production staff
really does a phenomenal job. By the way, we’re putting together something
cool for the “guys in tanning”, too. Stay tuned!
Our “Women in Tanning” Industry Closeup subject is Sue Phemster of Australian
Gold/Swedish Beauty. What a story! Sue is a genuine, hardworking person
whom I’ve known for a long time and consider a good friend. I’ve watched
her rise through the ranks at AG/SB and I think they’re fortunate to have
her on their team.
There’s another special woman in tanning in this month’s Company Profile.
Mul-Ti Enterprises (they make The Tannie) has a talented woman at the
helm – she took a chance at sailing her own ship and starting a business.
You have to admire her entrepreneurial spirit.
Speaking of sailing her own ship, this lady does it, too – Eye Pro’s Brenda
Fishbaugh went to London for the Professional Beauty event and wrote another
awesome story for IST. She would have gone to Italy last month, as well,
and had another story for us, but she broke her toe the day before she
was supposed to leave and had to have surgery. Hope it’s all better, Bren!
We have a good article for those of you wanting to upgrade your equipment
offerings – financing just might be the way to go, and we got a lot of
great advice from some of the industry’s experts.
Don’t forget about Pro Tan’s “Hot Legs” Contest – there’s still time to
enter your tanners’ photos, get some great lotion and t-shirts just for
entering, and maybe even be featured in IST. More details are on pg. 118.
Devoted Creations is also sponsoring a cool contest – the “Mystery Destination”
trip giveaway. Just stack up your last three copies of IST with this one,
and check out the photo created by the spines. Guess where the photo was
taken and you could be going there! See the details on pg. 78.
As always, we’ve got more fun things planned – that’s what we do!
Thanks again for reading –
Sincerely,
