The Complete Luxury Experience
by John P. Ribner

Offering the benefits of massage services without the set-up
worries, a Spa Capsule can be a great addition to any tanning salon. “It’s
an easy way for salons to increase revenue by offering a spa service to
their clients,” commented Mike Casson, Spa Capsule President. “The great
thing about these units is that they allow salon pros to offer massage without
the added issues of hiring a masseuse and obtaining the proper licensing,”
he continued. “All it requires is a standard 220 volt connection with a
20-amp breaker, and there’s no plumbing needed. It’s simply a matter of
plugging the unit in and selling sessions.”
The Spa Capsule is a self-contained, dry water massage system, which means
that while the unit utilizes 28 computer-controlled, high-powered jets of
water to massage clients, the client stays clothed and never gets wet. That’s
because the jets spray water onto a mattress that moves with the water pressure,
thus creating the massaging effect. “The great thing about this unit is
that the client can customize their massage experience,” Casson said. “By
utilizing the LCD touch screen controls, clients can opt for a full-body
massage, or focus on either the upper or lower back areas. The temperature,
water pressure and pulsating frequency can also be adjusted from a very
gentle massage to something more vigorous, depending on the client’s needs.”
Currently, the Spa Capsule system features an override switch for salon
operators to keep track of clients’ sessions, and Casson says the company
is working on integrating the Spa Capsule with T-Max and other timers available
in the indoor tanning industry, which should be available soon.
Variety is the key word with the Spa Capsule. The massage system offers
several programs – a stress soother, which focuses on the head, back, neck
and shoulders; an energizer, which is good for warming the body up before
physical activity; a cellulite-buster and a cool down. “All of these different
programs provide a variety of services for salons to offer,” Casson commented.
For added relaxation and built-in creature comforts, every Spa Capsule comes
complete with a built-in DVD system to allow clients the option of watching
a movie while enjoying a massage. The units also offer aromatherapy, and
surround sound for relaxing music to accompany their session. “It’s the
complete luxury experience,” Casson said.
The Spa Capsule sells for about $24,900, and Casson says several financing
and lease options are available. The company’s support team delivers and
installs each Spa Capsule unit, and offers a one-day training course on
operating the simple-to-use system. “The next day, salon pros can utilize
the unit to start making money,” he added.
